MoarDammit is Offline

Well it’s about time something happened to MoarDammit. Unfortunately over the weekend the postgres DB operator within Kubernetes wanted to explode and cause the replicas and primary node to become out of sync and unrecoverable. It’s great. Now it can only be alive for a total of 10 minutes. I’ve stashed the last backup from February 4th (ouch). Recovery is going to be a tad painful. Thanks to Auth0 and Google for having their perfect authentication the admin panel is now not functional. I’ve complained about this in another post. Not for a lack of trying, but it doesn’t want to redirect anymore. So now, like D20Kit, MoarDammit is going to be taking a small nap in the interim.

These changes allow me to reallocate a lot of effort in the maintenance story of these applications. While it is fantastic using Kubernetes for these applications, and I haven’t had much issues for the past 2-3 years it has now caught up to me in the form of no time, fuck it. Both D20Kit and MoarDammit will return in full. I’ve kept MoarDammit around for the better part of a decade, and I’m not ready to give up on it.
